திருமதி கிருத்திகா கிரிதரன் அவர்கள் மீன் பாடும் தேனாடாம் மட்டக்களப்பில் பிறந்து வளர்ந்தவர். அவர் தனது ஆரம்ப மற்றும் இடைநிலைக் கல்வியை மட்டக்களப்பிலுள்ள வின்சட் மகளிர் உயர்தர தேசிய பாடசாலையில் கற்றார். சிறு வயதிலிருந்தே தமிழ் மொழி, இசை மற்றும் நடனம் ஆகிய கலைத் துறைகளில் மிகுந்த ஆர்வம் கொண்டிருந்தார்.
பள்ளிக் காலத்திலேயே பல பாடசாலைகளுக்கிடையிலான தமிழ் திறன் போட்டிகளில் கலந்து கொண்டு, நடனம், கட்டுரை மற்றும் கவிதைப் போட்டிகளில் பல பரிசுகளைப் பெற்றுள்ளார். மேலும், க.பொ.த. உயர்தரப் பரீட்சையில் தமிழை ஒரு பாடமாகக் கற்று அதில் உயர்சித்தி பெற்றுள்ளார்.
சிறு வயதிலிருந்தே பரதநாட்டியத்தின் மீது அதிக ஈடுபாடு கொண்டிருந்த அவர், தனது உயர்கல்வியை இந்தியாவில் அமைந்துள்ள அண்ணாமலைப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் தொடர்ந்தார். அங்கு “நாட்டிய கலிமாமணி” பட்டத்தைப் பெற்று, சிதம்பரம் நடராஜர் சந்நிதியில் தனது அரங்கேற்றத்தையும் வெற்றிகரமாக நிகழ்த்தினார்.
பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் கல்வி கற்ற காலப்பகுதியில் நடைபெற்ற பல்வேறு கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகள் மற்றும் போட்டிகளில் பங்கேற்று பல விருதுகளையும் பாராட்டுகளையும் பெற்றுள்ளார்.
2002 ஆம் ஆண்டு மீண்டும் மட்டக்களப்பிற்கு திரும்பி, தாம் கல்வி கற்ற வின்சட் மகளிர் தேசிய பாடசாலையிலேயே நான்கு ஆண்டுகள் நடன ஆசிரியையாகப் பணியாற்றினார். தனது மாணவர்களின் திறமைகளை வெளிக்கொணரும் நோக்கில், அவர்களை நடனம், நாட்டிய நாடகம், கூத்து போன்ற பல்வேறு கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகளுக்குத் தயார்படுத்தி, பாடசாலை, மாவட்ட மற்றும் மாகாண மட்டப் போட்டிகளில் பங்கேற்கச் செய்து பல வெற்றிகளைப் பெற வழிநடத்தியுள்ளார்.
அதோடு மட்டுமல்லாமல், மட்டக்களப்பிலுள்ள இசை மற்றும் நடனக் கல்லூரியிலும், ஆசிரியர் பயிற்சிக் கல்லூரியிலும் (College of Education) வருகைத் பேராசிரியராக (Visiting Professor) பணியாற்றியுள்ளார்.
2006 ஆம் ஆண்டு திருமணமாகி லண்டனுக்கு குடிபெயர்ந்த அவர், தனது சொந்த நடனப் பள்ளியைத் தொடங்கி கடந்த 20 ஆண்டுகளாக நடன ஆசிரியையாகப் பணியாற்றி வருகிறார். மேலும், Oriental Fine Arts Academy London (OFAAL) நிறுவனத்தில் கடந்த 20 ஆண்டுகளாக தேர்ச்சி பெற்ற பரீட்சையாளராக (Examiner) சேவையாற்றி வருகிறார்.
2013 ஆம் ஆண்டு சறே தமிழ் பாடசாலையில் தமிழ் ஆசிரியராக இணைந்து, இன்று வரை மாணவர்களுக்கு தமிழ் மொழியைக் கற்பித்து வருகிறார். வளர்தமிழ் 1, 2, 3 மற்றும் 4 ஆகிய வகுப்புகளுக்கு ஆசிரியராகப் பணியாற்றியுள்ளார்.
மேலும், நேரடி மற்றும் இணையவழி ஆசிரியர் பயிற்சி பட்டறைகளில் பங்கேற்று பல சான்றிதழ்களையும் பெற்றுள்ளார். பாடசாலையில் நடைபெறும் அனைத்து நிகழ்வுகளிலும் ஆர்வமுடன் பங்கேற்று தன்னுடைய அறிவையும் திறமையையும் தொடர்ந்து மேம்படுத்தி வருகிறார்.
இளம் தலைமுறையினருக்கு தமிழ் மொழி, கலை, பண்பாடு மற்றும் பாரம்பரியத்தை கற்பித்து வருவதில் அவர் மிகுந்த பெருமை கொள்கிறார். கல்வி, கலை மற்றும் பண்பாட்டு சேவையின் மூலம் சமூகத்தில் சிறந்த பங்களிப்பை வழங்கி வரும் அர்ப்பணிப்புமிக்க ஆசிரியரும் கலைஞருமாவார் திருமதி கிருத்திகா கிரிதரன்.
Mrs. Krithika Kiritharan
was born and raised in Batticaloa, famously known as the “Land Where the Fish Sing.” She received her primary and secondary education at Vincent Girls’ High School National School in Batticaloa. From a very young age, she showed a keen interest in the Tamil language, music, and dance.
During her school years, she actively participated in inter-school Tamil competency competitions, including dance, essay writing, and poetry competitions, winning numerous awards and recognitions. She also pursued Tamil as a subject in her General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) examinations and achieved outstanding results.
Her passion for Bharatanatyam began in her childhood and continued to grow over the years. Pursuing her dream, she undertook higher studies in dance at Annamalai University in India, where she obtained the prestigious “Nattiya Kalimamani” qualification. She also performed her Arangetram in the sacred presence of Lord Nataraja at Chidambaram.
While studying at the university, she actively participated in various cultural programmes and competitions and received several awards and accolades for her performances.
In 2002, she returned to Batticaloa and served as a Dance Teacher at her alma mater, Vincent Girls’ National School, for four years. During her tenure, she dedicated herself to nurturing the artistic talents of her students by training them in dance, dance dramas, and traditional theatre performances. Under her guidance, students successfully participated in and won numerous school, district, and provincial competitions.
She also served as a Visiting Professor at the College of Music and Dance in Batticaloa and at the College of Education, contributing significantly to teacher training and arts education.
After her marriage in 2006, she moved to London and established her own dance school. She has been serving as a dance teacher for nearly two decades, inspiring and training students in the field of classical dance. She has also been a qualified Examiner for the Oriental Fine Arts Academy London (OFAAL) for the past 20 years.
In 2013, she joined the Surrey Tamil School as a Tamil teacher and continues to teach Tamil to students to this day. She has taught the Valar Tamil Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 classes, contributing significantly to Tamil language education among young learners.
Furthermore, she has participated in numerous teacher training workshops conducted both in person and online, earning several certificates and professional qualifications. She actively takes part in all school activities and continuously strives for personal and professional development.
Mrs. Krithika Giritharan takes great pride in teaching the Tamil language, culture, and traditions to the younger generation. Through her dedication to education, arts, and cultural preservation, she continues to make a valuable contribution to the Tamil community both locally and internationally
