திருமதி கோபிகா சுரேஷ்குமார்
எமது பாடசாலையின் புதிய வரவான திருமதி கோபிகா சுரேஷ்குமார் அவர்கள் ,Cambridge மாணவர்களுக்கு கற்பித்து வருகிறார். இவர் யாழ்ப்பாணப்பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் தமிழ்துறைப்பட்டதாரியாவார்.
வவுனியா மாவட்டத்தின் நெளுக்குளம் என்ற அழகிய கிராமத்தைப் பிறப்பிடமாகக் கொண்டவர் ஆவார். சிறு வயதிலிருந்தே தமிழ் மொழி மீது ஆழ்ந்த பற்றுடன் வளர்ந்த இவர், அதிகமாக நூல்கள் வாசிக்கும் பழக்கத்தின் மூலம் தனது அறிவையும் மொழிப்பற்றையும் வளர்த்துக் கொண்டார்.
பாடசாலைப் பருவத்திலிருந்தே தமிழ்த்தினப் போட்டிகள், மேடைநிகழ்ச்சிகள், பேச்சுப்போட்டிகள், நாடகங்கள், வில்லுப்பாடல், சங்கீதப் போட்டிகள் போன்ற பல்வேறு துறைகளிலும் சிறந்து விளங்கிய இவர், மாவட்ட மற்றும் மாகாண மட்டங்களில் பல சான்றிதழ்களையும் பரிசுகளையும் பெற்றுள்ளார். மேலும், பல நிகழ்வுகளில் அறிவிப்பாளராகவும், தொகுப்பாளராகவும் திறம்பட செயல்பட்டுள்ளார்.
தமிழ் இலக்கணம் மற்றும் இலக்கியத்தின் மீது கொண்ட ஆழ்ந்த ஆர்வம், இவரை கவிதை, கட்டுரை, நாடகம் போன்ற படைப்புகளை எழுத ஊக்குவித்தது. பள்ளிப் பருவத்திலிருந்தே தமிழ் பாடத்தில் சிறந்த பெறுபேறுகளைப் பெற்ற இவர், சாதாரண தரப் பரீட்சையில் அனைத்து பாடங்களிலும் சிறப்பாகத் தேர்ச்சி பெற்றிருந்தாலும், உயர்தரத்தில் கலைப்பிரிவைத் தெரிவுசெய்து தொடர்ந்து தமிழைக் கற்க விரும்பினார்.
2007ஆம் ஆண்டு யாழ்ப்பாணப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் தமிழ்ப் சிறப்புப் பிரிவில் கலைமாணி பட்டம் பெற்று, தமிழ் துறையில் இரண்டாம் இடம் பெற்றது இவரது கல்விப் பயணத்தின் முக்கிய சாதனையாகும். விரிவுரையாரளர்களான திரு சண்முகதாஸ் ,திரு சிவலிங்க ராஜா மற்றும் ,திரு விசாகரூபன் ஆகியோர் இவரது வளர்ச்சிக்கு பெரும் பங்காற்றியுள்ளனர்.
தாய்மொழியான தமிழ் இவரது அடையாளமாக விளங்குகிறது. மாணவர்களுக்கு தமிழ் மொழியின் அழகையும் பண்பையும் எடுத்துச் சொல்லும் அர்ப்பணிப்பு மிக்க ஆசிரியராக இவர் திகழ்கிறார். இளம் தலைமுறையில் மொழிப்பற்றையும் பண்பாட்டுணர்வையும் வளர்க்கும் அவரது பணிக்கு அனைவரின் பாராட்டும் ஆதரவும் உரியது.
Mrs. Kobika Sureshkumar
Mrs. Gopika Sureshkumar is a new member of our school and currently teaches Cambridge students. She is a graduate of the Tamil Department at the University of Jaffna. She was born in the beautiful village of Nelukkulam in the Vavuniya district and has shown a deep love for the Tamil language from a young age, which was nurtured through extensive reading.
From her school days, she actively participated in Tamil Day competitions, stage performances, speech contests, dramas, Villu Paattu, and music programs, winning many certificates and prizes at district and provincial levels. She also served efficiently as an announcer and coordinator at various events.
Her strong interest in Tamil grammar and literature inspired her to write poems, essays, and plays. She excelled academically from her school years and chose the Arts stream for her advanced studies.
In 2007, she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Tamil (Special) from the University of Jaffna and secured second place in her department. She was guided by lecturers Mr. Shanmugadas, Mr. Sivalingam Raja, and Mr. Visakarupan.
Tamil is her identity and pride. She is a dedicated teacher who instills love for language and culture in her students and works tirelessly to nurture the younger generation.
