திருமதி ஜெயகௌரி எற்றிக்சுதாகரன்
கிழக்கிலங்கையில் மீன்பாடும் தேன் நாடு என்று அழைக்கப்படும் மட்டுமாநகரில் உள்ள வந்தாறுமூலை இவரது பிறப்பிடம் ஆகும். இன்று கிழக்குப் பல்கலைக்கழகமாக இயங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் அன்றைய vantharumoolai M. M. V இல் இவர் தனது ஆரம்பக் கல்வியை முடித்து , உயர்கல்வியை மட்டக்களப்பிலுள்ள St. Cecilia’s International School இல் விஞ்ஞானப் பிரிவில் கற்றார். தமிழ் இலக்கண, இலக்கியத்தையும் அறிந்திருக்க வேண்டுமென்பதால் தமிழ்ப்பாடத்தையும் கற்று சித்தி பெற்றார்.இவ்வேளையில் இவருக்கு ஆசிரிய நியமனம் கிடைத்ததால் , அப்பணியைச் செய்யும் ஆர்வத்தினால் அதில் இணைந்து கொண்டார். வாகரை என்னுமிடத்திலுள்ள Vaharai Maha Vidyalaya இல் முதல் நியமனம் பெற்று , அங்கு ஆரம்ப நிலைக் கல்வியினையும், விஞ்ஞானப் பாடத்தினையும் கற்பித்தார். பின்பு காயாங்கேணி , கரடியனாறு ஆகிய இடங்களில் பணியாற்றி , இறுதியில் இவரது சொந்த ஊரான வந்தாறுமூலையில் உள்ள விஷ்ணு வித்தியாலயத்தில் புலமைப் பரிசில் பாடங்களையும், விஞ்ஞானப் பாடத்தினையும் கற்பித்தார். அங்கு புலமைப் பரிசில் பரீட்சையில் கூடியளவு மாணவர்கள் சித்தியடைந்த பெருமை இவருக்குக் கிடைத்தது. கற்பித்தலோடு சேர்த்து பாடசாலை பொறுப்புகள் பலவற்றில் பங்கேற்றார். பிள்ளைகளின் உளவியலிற்கு ஏற்ப அவர்களை வழிநடாத்தும் திறனையும் பெற்றுக் கொண்டார். இலங்கையில் 10 வருட ஆசிரியர் சேவையின் பின் 2000ம் ஆண்டில் இலண்டன் வந்தார்.
இங்கு 2001 இலிருந்து English Development courses செய்து 2006 இல் ESOL level 3 இல் ( Trinity) சித்தியடைந்தார். பின்னர் 2008 இல் CACHE ( children care learning and development) Level 2 NVQ ஐ நிறைவு செய்தார். பின் 2008 – 2010 வரை New Malden Green Lane Montessori இல் Assistant teacher ஆகப் பணி புரிந்தார். தற்போது 16 வருடங்களாக Tesco Supper Store இல் personnel shopper ஆக வேலை செய்கிறார். அத்தோடு 18 வருடங்களாக சறே தமிழ்க் கல்வி கூடத்தில் தமிழ் ஆசிரியையாக கடமையாற்றுகிறார். வளர்தமிழ்
1 – 6 வரை கற்பித்து, , தற்போது வளர்தமிழ் 5 இல் கற்பித்து வருகின்றார். மாணவர்களின் அனைத்துலக தேர்வுகளில் திறமையான சித்திகளைப் பெற உதவியுள்ளார். விசேடமாக 2023ம் ஆண்டில் வளர்தமிழ் 2 இல் 11 மாணவர்கள் அதிதிறன் பெற்றமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.இங்கு தமிழ் கற்பிப்பதோடு ஒன்று கூடல்கள், மேலதிக வகுப்புகள் , தமிழமுதம், ந்த்தார் நிகழ்ச்சி, விளையாட்டுப் போட்டி , தமிழ்த்திறன் போட்டி போன்றவற்றில் இவராலான முழு ஒத்துழைப்பையும் வழங்கி வருகிறார். அத்தோடு ஆசிரியர் பயிற்சிப் பட்டறைகள், தேர்வு நடத்துனர் போன்றவற்றிலும் பங்களிப்பு செய்கிறார். இவர் புலம் பெயர் வாழ் சிறார்களின் தமிழையும், தமிழர் பண்பாடுகளையும் வளர்ப்பதில் ஒரு முக்கிய பங்கு வகிக்கிறார் என்பதில் பெருமை கொள்கிறார்
Mrs. Jeyagowree Ettricksuthakaran
Her birthplace is Vantharumoolai in the city of Batticaloa known as the land in eastern Sri Lanka. She completed her primary education at the Vantharu Moolai M.M.B which is now the Eastern University. She continued her higher education at St. Cecila’s International School in Batticaloa. She studied in the science department at the International School. Since she has to know Tamil grammar and literature, she also studied Tamil and passed. At this time, she got a teaching appointment and joined it out of interest in doing that job. Her first appointment was at the Vakarai Maha Vidyalayam in Vakarai .she received his education ,and taught science subjects at the primary level there. She then worked in Kayankeni and Karadiyanaru and finally taught science subjects at Vishnu Vidyalaya in her hometown Vantharumoolai. There she taught science subjects. She was a teacher. She has the honour of achieving the highest number of students passing the scholarship examination there. In addition to teaching, she participated in many school responsibilities. She also acquired the ability to guide children according to their psychology. After 10 years of teaching service in Sri Lanka, she came to England in 2000. She took an English development course here from 2001 and passed ESOL level 3 in 2006. Then in 2008 she completed the (CACHE) (Children care learning and development) level 2 NVQ. She then worked as a Montessori Assistant Teacher at Green Lane, New Malden from 2008 to 2010. She has currently worked as a personal shopper at Tesco Superstore for 16 years. She has also been a Tamil teacher at Surrey Tamil Academy for 18 years. She has taught Valar Tamil from Grade 1 to Grade 6 and is currently teaching Valar Tamil 5 She has helped students achieve excellent results in all world examinations. It is especially noteworthy that eleven students in Valar Tamil 2 achieved excellent results in 2023. In addition to teaching Tamil here, she is also providing full support in one-on-one meetings, extra classes, Tamil Amudham, Christmas program, sports competition, Tamil talent competition, etc. she also contributes to teacher training workshops, conducts examinations, etc. she takes pride in playing an important role in developing Tamil and Tamil culture among the diaspora.
