வளர் தமிழ் இரண்டானது தமிழர் கல்வி மேம்பாட்டுப் பேரவை(TEDC) பாடத்திட்டத்திற்கு அமைவாக கற்பிக்கப்படுகிறது.

இவ்வகுப்பில் இரண்டு நூல்கள் மிகவும் முக்கியமானது.

1) பாடநூல்

2) பயிற்சி நூல்

இந்நூல்களை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டே கற்பித்தல் இடம்பெறுகின்றது.  முதலில் பாட நூலை எடுத்துக்கொண்டால் அதில்14 பாடங்கள் உள்ளடக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. முதலாவது பாடமாக எங்கள் தாய் மொழியில் தொடங்கி தாய் மொழியின் சிறப்புக் கள் பற்றியும் அதோடு தொடர்புடையதாக இன்கலைகள், தைப்பொங்கல், தாயகத்தில் நிலவன், தமிழர் என்பன உள்ளடக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

கதைகளாகவும் சில பாடங்கள் கற்பிக்கப்படுகின்றன. உதவுவோம், புத்தியுள்ள காகம், மூத்தோர் சொற் கேட்போம்.

இக்கதைகள் மூலம்

பிறருக்கு உதவும் பண்பு, ஒற்றுமையே வலிமை, புத்திக் கூர்மை, தாய் சொல்லைக் கேட்டல் போன்ற சிறந்த பண்புகள் மாணவர்களிடையே வளர்க்கப்படுகின்றது.

மன்னர்கள் என்ற வரிசையில் வள்ளல் பாரியும், சங்கிலிய னும் புலவர்களில் திருவள்ளுவர், ஒளவையார, நவாலியூர் சோமசுந்தரப் புலவர் பற்றியும் கற்பிக்கப்படுகின்றது.

பயிற்சி நூலை எடுத்துக் கொண்டால் அதிலும் இதே போன்று 14 அலகுகள் இருக்கின்றன. முதலாவது அலகில் எழுத்துக்கள் எவ்வாறு உருவாகின்றது? அதாவது க்+ அ=க,

 ங்+ அ= ங, என்ற உயிர்மெய் எழுத்துக்களுடன் தொடங்குகின்றது. பின்பு வினைச்சொற்கள் அறிமுகப் படுத்தப்படுகின்றன. மூன்று காலங்களிலும் கூறப்பட்டாலும் கூடுதலாக நிகழ்காலத்தில் சொல்லவும், எழுதவும் பயிற்சிகள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. இதனால் மாணவர்கள் தாமாகவே சொல்லியங்களைக் கூறவும், எழுதவும் கற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்கள். அத்துடன் பாட நூலில் உள்ள அலகுகளுக்கான பயிற்சிகள் சில பயிற்சி நூலில் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. மேலும் ஒருமை, பன்மை

இது மட்டுமன்றி படங்களைப் பார்த்து 5 சொற்களும்,3 சொல்லியங்கள் எமுதவும் பயிற்சிகள் கொடுக்கப்படுகின்றன.

இவை மட்டுமல்லாது ஐ, கு, இல் சேர்த்து ஒலிக்கவும், எழுதவும் பயிற்சிகள் கொடுக்கப்படுகின்றன.

மேலும் திருக்குறள்களும் விடுகதைகளும் இந்நூலில் உள்ளதால்  மாணவர்களுக்கு இலகுவாக அதனையும் கற்பிக்க முடிகின்றது.

அடுத்து முக்கியமாக அமைவது கேட்டல், பேசுதல், வாசித்தல் பகுதியாகும். கேட்டலுக்கான பகுதிகள் ஒலி வட்டில் பதிவிறக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஒவ்வொரு அலகும் கற்பிக்கப்படும் பொழுது அதற்குரிய கேட்டல் பகுதியும் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு போட்டு கேள்விகளையும் சொல்லிக்கொடுக்கின்றோம்.

பேசுதலுக்கு இரண்டு நூல்கள் உள்ளன.1) வளர்தமிழ் அறிவோம்.

2) வளர்தமிழ் பேசுவோம்.

படத்தைக் காட்சிப்படுத்தி அதிலுள்ளவற்றைப் பிள்ளைகளிடம் கேட்டு ,அவர்களின் பேசுதல் திறன் விருத்தி செய்யப்படுகின்றது.

வாசிப்பு ஒரு மனிதனை பூரணமடையச் செய்கின்றது. அதற்காக வாசிப்போம் என்ற நூலும் மாணவர்களின் வாசிப்புத்திறனை விருத்தியடையச் செய்ய கற்பிக்கப்படுகின்றது.

பாடம் சார்ந்த விடயங்கள் மட்டுமல்லாது மாணவர்களின் ஒன்று கூடலும் இடம் பெறுகின்றது. அதற்கும் மாணவர்களை தயார்படுத்துகின்றோம்.  இறுதியில் தமிழ் அமுதம் நிகழ்விற்கும் மாணவர்களை தயார்படுத்தி மேடை ஏற்றுகின்றோம். மேலும் புதிதாக “மாணவர் அரங்கு”

ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதற்கும் மாணவர்களை வினாக்களைக் கேட்டு விடை கூறுவதற்கும் பயிற்சிகள் வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.

“Valar Tamil 2” is taught according to the curriculum of the Tamil Education Development Council (TEDC).

Two books are very important in this class:

1. Textbook
2. Workbook

Teaching is mainly based on these books. The textbook contains 14 lessons. The first lesson begins with “Our Mother Tongue” and covers the importance of the Tamil language, along with related topics such as traditional arts, Thai Pongal, Thaayakathil Nilavan, and the Tamil people.

Some lessons are taught through stories, such as:

* “Let Us Help”

* “The Clever Crow”

* “Let Us Listen to Elders”

Through these stories, students are encouraged to develop good qualities such as helping others, unity, intelligence, and listening to their parents and elders.

Under the topic of kings, students learn about Vallal Pari and King Sankiliyan. Among poets, they study Thiruvalluvar, Avvaiyar, and Navaliyoor Somasundara Pulavar.

The workbook also contains 14 units. The first unit introduces how letters are formed, beginning with combinations of consonants and vowels such as:

* க் + அ = க

* ங் + அ = ங

Students are then introduced to verbs. Although verbs are taught in all three tenses, greater emphasis is placed on practicing speaking and writing in the present tense. Through this, students learn to form and write sentences independently.

Exercises related to the textbook lessons are also included in the workbook. In addition, students learn singular and plural forms, for example:

* மலர் → மலர்கள் (flower → flowers)

* புறா → புறாக்கள் (pigeon → pigeons)

* மாணவன் → மாணவர்கள் (student → students)

Students are also given activities such as looking at pictures and writing five words and three sentences based on them.

Furthermore, practice is given in pronunciation and writing using suffixes such as “ஐ”, “கு”, and “இல்”. Since the workbook also contains Thirukkural couplets and riddles, these can be taught to students more easily.

Another important aspect of the program is listening, speaking, and reading skills.

Listening exercises are recorded in audio format. As each unit is taught, the corresponding listening section is played for the children, followed by questions and discussions.

For speaking practice, two books are used:

1. “Valar Tamil Arivom” (Let Us Learn Tamil)
2. “Valar Tamil Pesuvom” (Let Us Speak Tamil)

Pictures are shown to the students, and they are encouraged to describe and discuss them in order to develop their speaking skills.

Reading makes a person complete. For this purpose, a book called “Vasippom” (Let Us Read) is also taught to improve students’ reading abilities.

In addition to academic activities, student gatherings and group activities are also organized, and students are prepared for these events. At the end, students are trained and given opportunities to perform on stage during the “Tamil Amutham” event.

Moreover, a new initiative called the “Student Forum” has recently been started. Students are also being trained to ask and answer questions as part of this interview.
